Inspired by the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust’s work rescuing and nurturing orphaned baby elephants, rhinos, and other wildlife species. The Pouch for Purpose features Elizabeth’s hand-painted design of a mother elephant leading her calf, embroidered onto luxury cotton velvet to create an everyday accessory that gives back to nature.
MILK FOR ORPHANED ELEPHANTS
Each Pouch for Purpose sold provides 2 bottles of specialist milk to feed a rescued orphan elephant in the care of the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, Kenya. This milk is freshly mixed by the keepers, who hand feed the calves 2 bottles every three hours, day and night.
These elephants, who have lost their mothers, still grow up with the love and support that every baby deserves, thanks to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. Once they transition from care, they reclaim their place back in the wild and continue to visit the Sheldrick Trust - often with their own calves in tow!
THE SHELDRICK WILDLIFE TRUST
The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust exists to protect Africa’s wildlife and to preserve habitats for the future of all wild species. Best known for the Orphan's Project, the first and most successful orphan elephant rescue and rehabilitation program in the world. Successfully raising 262 baby elephants who have lost their mothers, most often at the hands of humans, as they and the orphaned rhinos also housed there struggle against the threat of poaching for their ivory and horn, and the loss of habitat due to human population pressures and conflict, deforestation and drought.

“I’ve been lucky enough to spend a lot of time with elephants in Southern and Eastern Africa in their natural habitat, their family dynamic, majestic presence and sensitivity reminds us of how important it is to take care of each other and preserve our natural world.”
