Hand fed every 3 hours, day and night, the milk provided is essential to the survival of orphan elephants. Having lost their mothers as they struggle against the threat of poaching, habitat loss and climate change, this special formula milk allows them to restore, grow and thrive as they gradually learn to reintegrate into the wild.
While our donations primarily support the wider conservation initiatives of the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, the orphan elephants remain at our heart, driving our support. We’re immensely proud to share some of the major milestones of the Orphans’ Project since our first Elephant Conservation Collection launched four years ago:
Since World Elephant Day 2019…
With more than 130 orphans currently in the care of Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, we’d love to introduce you to three little Nursery eles who currently call the SWT home…
During our time working together, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust witnessed one of Kenya’s worst droughts in decades. Last year saw daily field emergencies and a deluge of orphans rescues - more babies were rescued in 2021 and 2022 than in the previous 5 years combined.
Due to their size, elephants are among the animals who suffer the most when faced with drought. Digesting only 40 to 60% of what they eat, they must consume vast quantities of food and water to survive. When these resources are hard to come by, the consequences for elephants are tragic. Our donations and milk meant more than ever!
Climate change is a global issue, but, on the ground in Kenya, field-level conservation is the most effective way to secure a future for elephants. Together, our collections are funding the operations of the SWT/KWS Mara Mobile Veterinary Unit, keeping this lifesaving team active in the field each day, where they can bring immediate relief to injured elephants and other wild animals, while SWT builds on sustainable solutions to safeguard their home in the long term.
With our latest Elephant Collection, we aim to increase our support even further! Each accessory generates the value of at least one bottle of milk for a hungry orphan ele.**
Funded by our 2% to the wild initiative, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust’s Mobile Vet Unit, operating with the Kenya Wildlife Service in the Maasai Mara, came to the aid of a baby giraffe suffering with an injured ankle, an injury that could turn fatal if left untreated. KWS vet, Dr. Njoroge, darted his wild patient, allowing his team to get the giraffe gently to the ground and check his injury. After some medication and TLC from the expert team, the 6-month-old giraffe was back on his feet.
A successful treatment for a majestic animal who now have a lifetime of adventures ahead of them.

The Mara Unit is one of five fully equipped Mobile Veterinary Unitus operated by the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, in partnership with the Kenya Wildlife Service. This particular unit comes to the aid of injured wild animals within the critical conservation area which is the Masai Mara. These incidents are often the result of human-wildlife conflict as well as poaching, with species like giraffes targeted for their meat and skins or elephants targeted for their tusks.
As you can imagine, running such a Unit is an expensive feat; from vet wages and vehicle upkeep to the purchase of necessary medicines, and so, as part of our commitment to give back to the natural world that inspires so many of our designs, we’re striving to fund the Unit for a full year - enabling the team to continue their incredible work, helping the country’s beautiful wildlife to thrive.
From January to June, the unit has attended 43 cases, saving countless wild lives, which would have been otherwise lost.
Cases the Mara Vet Unit attended are wide-ranging and include wildlife injured by snares, spears, and arrows, most notably of elephant, giraffe, and zebra. Other cases include a lion poisoned due to livestock predation, and a zebra and cheetah injured by fencing, which were all related to Human-Wildlife Conflict. One baby elephant also required rescuing after suffering gunshot wounds to its right hind leg.

]]>Through our 2% to the Wild Pledge and Turtle Conservation designs, we’re able to help protect hatchlings as they take their first flip flop steps to the ocean, giving them the very best shot at reaching adulthood. From moving endangered nests, to preserving beaches and guiding the baby turtles through the early stages of life, the funds raised will help to secure the future of this beautiful keystone species.
Did you know that over the last 80 years, the bee population has plummeted due to the UK losing 97% of flower-rich meadows?
In 2022, our community and friends at the Bumblebee Conservation Trust set out to change that with the aim of planting 1 hectare of wildflower seeds across London. This was our way of supporting the bee-autiful creatures that inspired our designs, allowing them to thrive, pollinate and protect biodiversity.

Through our Elephant Conservation Collections, we’re able to raise vital funds to purchase milk for dependent elephants in the care of the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, supporting their Orphans’ Project.
To date, the SWT has successfully raised more than 282 orphans who have lost their mothers against the threats of poaching, habitat loss, and climate change. As part of their rehabilitation, the baby elephants get hand fed by keepers every 3 hours, day and night. This milk is essential to the survival of these orphans so that one day they can be reintegrated back into the wild.
Vaarti had an unexpected introduction to the Sheldrick Trust is 2019, when a wild female elephant strode up to the stockades with a newborn calf in tow. To the Keepers' surprise, the unknown female was far too young to be the calf’s mother and unable to produce milk. It was very clear from his thin and gaunt appearance that he had not had milk for several days - a suspicion confirmed by his attempt to nurse a group of bulls at a nearby trough. Returning to bush and leaving the little ele with the Keepers, it was clear that this brave female came to the stockades with the intention of delivering the calf into safe hands. Today, Vaarti or ‘luck’ in the language of the local Kamba tribe, is a ray of sunshine in elephant form, bringing joy to everyone in his orbit. Learn more
Just 3 years old, little Bondeni has journeyed far for an ele so young. His story with the SWT began when he was just a newborn, found wandering into a village with his feet covered in lacerations from jagged lava slopes. With no elephant herds sighted in the vicinity, how he ended up alone on such precarious terrain remains unknown…
Rescued by KWS rangers and the Sheldrick aerial team, he is now safely located at the SWT Nursery in Nairobi. Here he will continue to find his footing and, when he is ready, continue his journey back to the wild at a Reintegration Unit in Tsavo. Until that time, spoiled little Bondeni will continue to flourish among the fellow orphans and Keepers who he already considers family. Learn more

I first came across Freya back in 2019 when we initially embarked on our partnership with the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. She was on assignment for the charity, capturing their gentle giants up close in the most magical of ways. Her photos conveyed so much emotion, telling the stories of these beautiful orphaned ellys, the struggles they had come up against and the love of the Trust’s keepers who cared for them. I’ve followed her journey ever since then, as she’s traveled the world, become a mother and told countless more stories through her lens. I’m so excited that we were able to sit down and chat through her story, and to celebrate the launch of our new Baby Elephant design, supporting those creatures she now knows so intimately. I hope you enjoy the conversation as much as I did!
"It struck me that this was my purpose and my way to make a contribution to the world, and I never looked back."

"That pouch and everything it holds is a representation of my life outside of being a mum, it's a reminder of who I am and where I’m going so it’s really important to me"

"Creative fulfilment is using my camera every day. It’s photographing the stories I love and it's feeling like I’m contributing in a way that is both so important to me, and hopefully to others in the big picture"

]]>Norfolk is a place that is very special to me; its golden beaches, fairytale flint cottages and windswept marshes were all in the back of my mind when taking to my sketchpad for this latest collection. I wanted to round up my top picks for a weekend away in Norfolk, so you too can be inspired by its natural beauty and magic. Expect sandy toes, salty hair and memories that will last a lifetime.
Eric’s Fish & Chips (restaurants in Holt and Thornham) - Whether you’re taking them out to go sit on the beach or grabbing a table in the brightly-tiled dining room, Eric’s oozes seaside charm. Everything is homemade and the fish is as fresh as they come - they truly were the best fish and chips that I’ve ever tasted!
The White Horse (Brancaster Staith) - Situated under Norfolk’s big blue skies with a view of the tidal marshes, The White Horse is a stunning lunchtime spot. We feasted on lobster and chips before taking a beautiful stroll along the marshland path - I’ve also heard that it’s a great place to catch one of Norfolk’s famous sunsets.
The Crown Inn (East Rudham) - Thais quaint country pub is a 15-minute drive from Sandringham and also just around the corner from Houghton Hall. Grab a sunny window seat or keep cosy by the wood-burning fires. I’ve been told that the Sunday roasts here are unbeatable also.
Holme - a bit of a Norfolk hidden gem, Holme beach is a nature reserve, making it the perfect place to spot local wildlife. There is a lovely nature train round to the beach front, happy dog days! We had hot chocolates at the cafe and it was so peaceful and quiet.
Holkham - Holkham Beach is stunning, it’s the only place I’ve ever been to where there is dense forest and beachside by side. All the best of nature! We spent the day there, such an adventure. Alex couldn’t resist diving into the ocean for a quick dip with Lamu. I have a booking on hold at the nearby Victoria Inn, which got pushed back due to covid. I can’t wait to stay there!
Brancaster - A pretty popular spot in the summer months, Brancaster beach is a beautiful place for a dip in the sea. It is owned by the National Trust and is really popular with dog walkers so expect to see lots of waggy tails.
The Hoste (Burnham Market) - Expect cosy and elegant rooms, I loved the heron wallpaper and it’s delightfully dog-friendly. We enjoyed afternoon tea with jam and scones on arrival and it was the perfect spot for the weekend. I loved that it was in Burnham Market, a very vibrant, trendy and artsy English Village.
The Ship (Brancaster) - This cosy pub is found at the top of the lane that leads right down to the seafront. The rooms are all unique, with gorgeous soft furnishings and comfy beds to sink into post-swim in the sea. The pub downstairs also does a mean Pimm’s, with a tasty menu of food also.
Marsh & Flint (North Creake) - A very lovely boutique shop near Burnham Market. I bought lots of pieces for Meiri’s nursery here and the owner was absolutely lovely! She has a real eye for gorgeous things.
Bombay Sprout (Burnham Market) - A charming boutique with accessories and homewares inspired and made in India. The founder, Zara has been designing and producing rugs for 17 years, working with a team of dedicated weavers to create the most beautiful products.
I would so love to hear your own Norfolk recommendations, do get in touch via our Instagram or Facebook. And to shop the new Lobster Collection, click here.

After a few slight hiccups finding the remote little beach shack (our driving skills were tested as we rumbled along bumpy dirt tracks) we eventually managed to find our little oasis of peace, hidden among fields upon fields of long grass, with the ocean just beyond. Our Norfolk-based makeup artist starting working her skincare magic on the beautiful Inês, and in no time at all she was glowing from head-to-toe, with her tousled locks inspiring salty sea memories.
With the sun on our side, we began capturing the striking lobster design, the creature’s smart red suit and piercing eyes glinting under the blue skies. Our talented photographer and videographer got to work immediately, capturing Inês dancing around the shack, slipping on an eye mask and packing up beach essentials in our lobster everyday pouch. Happy with the images, we enjoyed a quick alfresco lunch before packing up and heading to the beach (SPF in hand, of course).
With sunnies on and shoes quickly ditched, we were able to create some truly stunning content that we hope shows off the very best of Norfolk. From exploring the dunes to dipping her toes in the sea and kicking back on the sand, Ines gave us all a masterclass in seaside fun (looking beautiful and poised every step of the way). As we secured our final image, the clouds started to form above and we took our queue to back up and head back to the city, grateful for the fresh air in our lungs and excited to share the collection with our community.
Inês Fressynet is a 31-year-old French and Brazillian model, who has been living in London since 2014. After a busy shoot day, we caught up with her to learn more about her relationship with nature, her inspirations and her favourite holiday memories.
For a long weekend, I'd say Cornwall is fantastic. There are vineyards and wineries where you can eat great food as well. I recently did a trip to St Ives and I loved the artsy atmosphere of the town. I also had a great time swimming in Kynance Cove and strolling Porthleven.
I always pack my little point and shoot film camera, which I like to use instead of my iPhone to capture behind the scenes. I usually receive the pictures several weeks after I've shot them, and I love reliving those fleeting moments. My pouch is also packed with natural cosmetics and other wellbeing products that I use as a form of self-care on the go. I like to have a roll-on of sweet orange essential oil that I warm in my inner wrists and breathe if I'm feeling stressed.
I enjoyed it so much. I was longing for nature, salty air and being close to the sea. We were lucky to shoot in an area of outstanding beauty and it felt really special to be able to shoot on the beach after the year that we've all had.
This new collection is gorgeous and I'm very proud to be a part of it. I am also a pouch aficionado, and I can't wait to bring mine with me in the south of France later this summer.
I thought a lot about it this year and, like most people, it's the seemingly simple things we were deprived of for months. Hugging loved ones, seeing live art, sharing gorgeous food with friends, restaurants, and traveling. During the lockdown I found solace in the little things. A nice cup of coffee, a great novel, self-care routines, cooking meals from scratch, journaling...

]]>To celebrate, we’ve rounded up five of the UK’s most beautiful wildflower walks - in the hope that we can inspire some weekend adventures and mindful moments. There truly is no better setting to take a deep breath and appreciate all that nature brings to our lives. Spanning South Wales to Norfolk, Scotland and beyond, here are our top picks for beautiful wildflower meadows to visit in the UK.
Explore our collection of bumblebee and wildflower-adorned accessories and homewares here.
Pensthorpe Wildflower Gardens, Norfolk
While Norfolk may be better known for its sweeping beachy landscapes and golden sand dunes, the county also happens to be home to one of the UK’s prettiest wildflower meadows. Located in Pensthorpe Natural Park in the floodplain of the River Wensum, this traditionally managed wildflower meadow is abuzz with bees, dragonflies and butterflies. With a boardwalk to mosey along, the trek will see you winding through 80 species of grasses and wildflowers. And if you time your visit between April and May? You may be lucky enough to stumble upon the Bluebell Wood, a wonderland of delicate floral forms.
Cae Eglwys, Brecon
Carefully maintained by the Brecknock Wildlife Trust, Cae Eglwys is a stunning nature reserve located a short drive from Brecon. Amongst the intensively managed farmland that can be seen across much of Wales, this secret paradise shows off traditional wildflowers at their very best - untouched and thriving with local wildlife. Expect to see a rainbow of colours, with plants such as knapweed, harebell and fleabane taking centre stage.
Clattinger Farm Nature Reserve, Wiltshire
Located a stone’s throw away from Marmsbury, Clattinger Farm Nature Reserve is a rural idyll, packed full of colourful life whatever time of year you choose to visit. From the delicate snake’s head fritillary in April to the explosion of orchids and rich purple meadow saffron in the summer, it’s the perfect place to spot busy bumblebees and delicate dragonflies - with barn owls and bats swooping above as dusk falls.
Jupiter Urban Wildlife Centre, Grangemouth
One of our top picks for wildflower meadows to visit in Scotland is the Jupiter Urban Wildlife Centre. The volunteers here work tirelessly to keep their magnificent meadow thriving, using traditional techniques to help seeds to spread and grow year after year. The landscape is home to over 30 types of wildflowers, including four species of colourful orchids. Hedgehogs, foxes and rabbits also call the centre home, and can often be seen darting across the meadow.
Highgrove Estate, Gloucestershire
While the preened and pruned gardens of Highgrove Estate may not first spring to mind when thinking of wild meadows, Prince Charles’ famous green paradise is in fact home to its very own wildflower field, spanning four acres and home to over 70 varieties of plants. From spring onwards you can expect to see beautiful blooms carpeting the floor, with lilies and daffodils lining the pathways, and fruit-laden trees hanging above. Known to be a favourite spot of a young Prince William and Harry, you may even spot a member of royalty during your wildflower wanders…
If you’re not able to escape to one of the plant paradises, you can easily create your very own bee haven at home. Every purchase from the Conservation Collection: Brave Bumblebees and British Blooms come with a packet of wildflower seeds which you can plant in your garden, local park or window box.
]]>Based on a vivid turquoise cotton base, the Hummingbird collection is perfect for brighter days and longer nights, whether you’re staying close to home or venturing further afield. With enough space to store all your essentials, the hummingbird pouch doubles up as a gorgeous clutch bag, bringing a pop of colour to any summertime outfit.
And if you’re planning a UK staycation? The turquoise day bag promises enough space to store everything you could need for a day of relaxing on the beach or exploring a new city. With thick, comfy straps and a zip closure to keep your bits and bobs safely tucked away, it’s the perfect companion.
As with all of our collections, there is the option to have your hummingbird makeup bag, pouch or day bag monogrammed with your initials - the ideal finishing touch to a thoughtful gift, or a well-deserved treat to yourself.
When creating this design, Elizabeth was inspired by how hummingbirds reflect the positive side of life, showing us the joy in nature’s smallest, smartest creatures. The agile bird reminds us to follow our dreams, no matter how big the obstacles may seem. illustrated in gold embroidery onto a rich cobalt velvet base, this glowing design is the perfect piece to bring a little magic and luxury into the everyday.
When taking to her sketchbook to dream up this latest design, Elizabeth was inspired by the deep turquoise hues of Cyprus’s waters, and previous visits to her husband’s family who live out there; “We would spend lazy afternoons lounging and feasting on halloumi pittas in his Yiayia’s garden under the shade of olive trees, basking in the sun and taking a dip in the turquoise sea. I am counting down the days until we can visit again”.
While exotic adventures to faraway isle may still feel like something of a fantasy, we’re hoping that the bright hues of this collection will similarly remind you of adventures gone by and moments of pure bliss.
While paying homage to nature through our designs, we also pledge to give back to the plants and animals that inspire our beautiful products with our 2% To The Wild promise. That means that 2% of our annual sales will go towards the preservation of keystone species; be it through funding a mobile veterinary unit or providing milk for orphaned elephants.

Buzzing onto the Elizabeth Scarlett site just in time for World Bee Day on the 20th May, our gorgeous new Conservation Collection: Brave Bumblebees & British Blooms promises to sprinkle some springtime joy on your every day (while also allowing you to do some good for the globe).
As part of our ongoing pledge to give back to the wild, we’ve partnered with the Bumblebee Conservation Trust, donating £15,000 from the sales of The Conservation Collection: Brave Bumblebees & British Blooms from May to August 2021. Our goal is to raise enough funds to sow 1 hectare of bumblebee-friendly wildflower seeds and to help fund their charitable activities.
As the UK’s only charity dedicated solely to the conservation of bumblebees, the trust works tirelessly to achieve its vision of communities and countryside rich in bumblebees and colourful wildflowers, supporting a diversity of wildlife and habitats for everyone to enjoy. In the last 80 years, an astonishing 97% of our wildflower habitat has disappeared, while two bumblebee species have gone extinct in the UK and a further eight species are now classified as endangered.
As pollinators, bumblebees are one of our most important keystone species; they help to pollinate a vast number of plants; from crops we need for food to colourful wildflowers, many of which would be unable to reproduce without the help of these tiny workers. As small as they may be, these mighty insects contribute an estimated $14 billion to the EU economy every year.
Founded in 2006, the Bumblebee Conservation Trust is on a mission to reverse these devastating changes to the UK’s ecosystems. Gaining the support of thousands of members and volunteers, the charity had already restored and enhanced over 3000 hectares of flower-rich habitat for bumblebees while also offering support and advice to over 400 farmers and landowners.
Here at Elizabeth Scarlett, we’re keen to also do our bit to help save the bumblebees, setting ourselves the goal to help the BBCT to sow one hectare of wildflower seeds across London this summer (that’s the equivalent of two and a half football pitches). Better yet? Each and every pouch, makeup bag, purse, eye mask and day bag sold from the collection will arrive with its very own packet of wildflower seeds - allowing you to create your own personal bee sanctuary - be it in a tiny window box or a cosy corner of your back garden.
Talking about this latest pledge, Elizabeth said “My artwork and designs have always been inspired by animals and nature, so it’s a privilege to be able to use my art to invest in the future of their species and natural habitats. We can all find big and small ways to promote biodiversity in our lives – it’s as simple as planting a wildflower window box.”
Keen to do your bit for the bumblebees? Browse the bee-autiful new collection here, or head to the Bumblebee Conservation Trust website to learn more about the work they do and donate.

Talking about her inspiration for the new collection, Elizabeth said “I’ve always been fascinated by tigers. When I was 5 years old, I couldn’t yet read but I adored drawing animals. I was particularly captivated by tigers and their distinct markings. It was a joy drawing them again this year with their powerful personalities and swagger, just how they prowl around the jungle! To this day, it’s my dream to see one in the wild..!”
Rest assured that, as always, all goods have been created using plant-based materials, including our vegan bags. We also pledge that 2% of our annual sales will go towards the preservation of keystone species such as the Bengal Tiger, a species that is under constant threat from poachers and habitat destruction.

Whether you’re escaping to faraway lands or staying close to home this summer, we’re hoping that the delicate golden and vanilla threads of this new collection will inspire similar sun-soaked memories and feelings of felicity. As the brightest object in our sky, the sun’s healing glow give life to all that grows on our planet, and so we couldn’t think of a more fitting motif for our first steps into summer.
The collection includes travel pouches, embroidered wash bags and luxury coin purses along with lavender eye masks - perfect for dreaming up your next escape. And for that extra special something? There is the option to add your own personal touch, with delicate hand-embroidered lettering. Packed up in a beautiful gold embossed box, our initial makeup bags and monogrammed pouches are a gorgeous birthday gift for her or a special springtime pick-me-up for yourself.
Based on crisp white cotton, the motif saw Elizabeth reimagining the sun as a golden goddess, with a human-like face created from intricate threads radiating magic and warmth. When dreaming up the new Spring design, Elizabeth took inspiration from a piece of writing from the late Persian poet Hafiz; “Even after all this time the sun never says to the earth, ‘You owe me.’ Look what happens with a love like that. It lights the whole sky.”
While paying tribute to nature and its almighty power through our designs, we also pledge to give back to the plants and animals that inspire our beautiful products with our 2% To The Wild promise. That means that 2% of our annual sales will go towards the preservation of keystone species; be it through funding a mobile veterinary unit or providing milk for orphaned elephants.

We shot these collections in a beautiful house in North London not too far from our office and kept the team small with our Marketing and Brand Manager, our photographer, a makeup artist, our lovely model Julia, our Marketing Assistant and of course Elizabeth Petrides on set.
The house was lovely and bright, with the sun beaming through the large open windows to perfectly highlight our spring products, which are all embroidered with accents of gold thread. We used extra light bouncers whilst shooting our pouches for makeup and cosmetic bag to make the most out of the light we had and really create the feel of a glorious spring day. We started with shooting our brand new design Olive Natural wanting to capture the rustic and meditarian indoor/ outdoor feel of the collection.
We were lucky to use two different bedrooms at this location so we then moved onto the second bedroom to start shooting our Sun Goddess collection in the new white colourway, our pouches for travel, coin purse and fabric handbags are the perfect pieces for spring/ summer outings and pairs beautifully with any outfit and house interior. We made the bed in our white Palmier luxury bedding and cushion covers providing a clean, luxe backdrop to our product shots. It was a flexible shoot with us spending a lot of time moving rooms to follow the positioning of the sun, working around the changing weather throughout the day.
It was a non stop production with multiple outfit changes to go with each collection and swift product changes to make sure we achieved beautiful images for our pouches for travel, coin purse, makeup bags, embroidered cushions, wash bags and eye mask for all collections.
We got lucky in the late afternoon as a glorious golden hour struck so we were quick to get our outdoor shots done, which led to some dazzling results for capturing our travel pouch and canvas shoulder bags.
Throughout the shoot we had lots of handwashing and sanitising breaks, kept the windows open and the house ventilated and kept our distance as much as possible obviously not so easy for our model and photographer!
A final sleepy eye mask shot to end the day and that was a wrap! We carefully packed everything up and cleaned the rooms we’d used and headed home for the day.
We love to share these behind the scenes sneak peaks with you and we can’t wait for you to see the final outcome of these efforts...when we launch our Spring Shop!

This limited-edition collection has been a long time coming. The starting point for this collection has come from our lovely community, each time we asked our community which animal-inspired collection they’d like to see next, these characterful cubs always came out on top! To bring this much requested design to life, Elizabeth painted their striking orange and black markings and Elizabeth's embroidery captured their powerful personalities with added gold embroidered accents. She paired their signature striped coats with bright threads and bold azure and apricot bases creating a final design that exudes positivity and power.
Elizabeth was overjoyed that tigers were so highly requested for the next collection design, having always been fascinated by tigers. When she was 5 years old, she couldn’t yet read but she just adored drawing animals. From this age onwards she was particularly captivated by tigers and their distinct markings. She found it was a joy drawing them again this year and said it has reignited her dream to see one in the wild!
This latest collection has launched in two colourways giving our community the opportunity to find the range that suits their personality and style best. Our Azure blue collection adds a bold pop of colour to any outfit or home interior for those who want to stand out. Our beautiful and more subtle Apricot collection works perfectly for those with a more pastel aesthetic to their look and homeware. For the first time we also launched a choice of two makeup bags with our Tiger Streak makeup bag featuring the three playing cubs and our Tiger Solo makeup bag featuring a more peaceful sitting down tiger, surrounded by pink hibiscus flowers. As always we offer personalised makeup bags in this range, by adding the option of monogramming up to 3 initials.
A stand out piece from this collection is the Tiger Azure Velvet Cushion, which is sure to make any chair the best seat in the house. The luxurious soft velvet base and embroidery detailing of the solo tiger shimmering with gold thread makes a truly unique statement in any home.
Tigers are keystone species, maintaining the balance of species in their ecosystems. They roam across grasslands, evergreen forests, tropical rainforests, and mangrove swamps, so play a critical role in a range of habitats and have a direct impact on both food and water supplies for millions of humans who live in these areas.Today, there are approximately 3,900 Tigers left in the wild; just over a century ago, there were as many as 100,000 Tigers roaming the wild. It’s our job to help species like this continue to thrive.
The collection of Tiger accessories, with lavender filled eye mask, coin purse, makeup bag, day velvet bags, wash bag, embroidered cushions and iconic Elizabeth Scarlett travel pouch, are the perfect pieces to brighten every room and outfit, even on the greyest of days. The question is… which colour will you choose?

In honour of International Women’s Day I want to celebrate the most powerful women in conservation.
These inspirational ladies have unleashed their feminine power to make a real difference to our wildlife - & to me & my designs!
As you might be able to tell from my giraffe, elephant & tiger collections, I am a real nature lover & feel strongly about protecting these beautiful species.
IIt’s for this reason that 2% of Elizabeth Scarlett annual sales go to support conservation charities that help keystone species.
It is also why I want to share with you these five Women in the Wild who are helping to protect our animals...
1.) Angela Sheldrick - Runs the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust
Wildlife is in Angela Sheldrick’s blood. The daughter of naturalist David Sheldrick MBE & Dr.Dame Daphne Sheldrick, this inspirational woman is continuing her family’s unwavering commitment to conservation & shows no signs of slowing down. In 2001 she took over her parent’s legacy to run the @sheldricktrust in Kenya all the while raising two sons - who will hopefully follow in her very impressive footsteps!
2.) Katy Payne - Founder of the Elephant Listening Project
Did you know that whales can compose music? Well we wouldn’t either were it not for Katy Payne. The zoologist was one of the first to discover that whales create & evolve their own song.
Katy then turned her attuned ear to elephants & managed to crack their language - despite being inaudible to humans! The mum-of-four is the founder of @elephantlisteningproject which gains insights into the beautiful creature. A remarkable woman with a remarkable ear!
3.) Paula Kahumbu - CEO of WildlifeDirect
@paula_kahumbu has been in the news for all the right reasons. The Kenyan conservationist is best known for spearheading the Hands Off Our Elephants Campaign in 2014.
Paula remains resolute in her commitment to protecting endangered species, the Princeton lecturer is currently the CEO of @wildlifedirect which is Africa’s largest wildlife blogging website & source for conservation concerns.
4.) Lek Chailert - Founder of the Elephant Nature Foundation
@lek_chailert is the founder of the @elephantnaturepark & longtime devotee to the protection of elephants in her native Thailand.
She’s rescued over 200 distressed elephants & been hailed a ‘Hero of Asia’ by Time magazine for her efforts.
Lek has been active in campaigning against elephant crushing & continues to make a big difference for our big friends!
5.) Dr.Krithi Karanth - Director at the Centre for Wildlife Studies
Meet @krithi.karanth, another inspirational woman who has dedicated her life to protecting our wildlife.
The biologist & National Geographic Explorer has left her footprints in the field of conservationism, publishing over 100 scientific articles & fighting to save the endangered tiger.
She continues to fight the fight & is currently the Chief Conservation Scientist & Director at the @cwsindia in Bangalore. Check out what she’s up to here.
I hope you’ve enjoyed learning about these incredible ladies & that they’ve inspired you to unleash your feminine strength on this International Women's Day!

Whatever purpose your makeup bag holds, pick your favourite design and colour from our range of beautifully embroidered makeup bags with designs that are inspired by and give back to nature.
Our current collection of makeup bags feature motifs including: Zebras, Giraffes, Tigers, Palm Trees and Jungle Leaves.
They provide the perfect stylish accessory, whilst being a makeup organiser to store all of your beauty bits from creams, serums and mists to makeup brushes and tools.
Our cosmetic bags combine functionality and style by adding a bit of luxury to your everyday with their gold embroidery, with a water-resistant lining for makeup mishaps. They even feature an inside pocket, to keep bobby pins or earrings safe.
If you’re after an accessory that’s large enough to store a vast makeup collection all in one place you could also try out one of our pouches for makeup!
Our range of Safari animal motif makeup bags were inspired by Elizabeth's trip to Kenya for her honeymoon. These fun and luxurious makeup bags include our Zebra design featuring dazzles of zebras that Elizabeth saw on safari, in both a bright mustard colourway and a rich indigo blue in luxurious velvet. Our Savanna Giraffe makeup bag takes the shapes of the elegant, long-legged creatures that Elizabeth saw grazing on the plains of Kenya. This makeup bag features the giraffes and green acacia trees delicately embroidered onto a rich orange velvet, capturing all the details with gold accents.
With dreams of trips to more exotic places Elizabeth designed our Jungle Leaf motif Makeup bag as well as the latest edition to our collections, The Wild Tigers range. The Jungle Leaf collection was inspired by the luscious, abundant tropical jungles of Bali. Elizabeth was entranced and inspired by the monstera plant on her travels, with their smooth edged leaves and wavy shapes, she started sketching right away. The delicate forms are hand-embroidered onto the softest canvas base.
We have three bold variations in our new Wild Tigers collection which were inspired by the beauty of the Tiger and how they slink their way through the jungle with personality and power. Their signature black and orange coat with gold detailing has been embroidered onto a bright azure blue and apricot velvet base. In our azure blue design there are two options one featuring the charactful cubs playing as a streak of tigers and the other featuring a solo sitting tiger surrounded by beautiful hibiscus flowers. Whichever you choose they’re sure to provide an excellent home for your makeup.
For the perfect finishing to your makeup bag we offer a monogramming service for an extra personalised touch for yourself or your loved one. Add up to three initials, on your personalised makeup bag from A-Z, in beautiful gold lettering which can be embroidered onto our full design range of makeup bags. There’s nothing quite as special as a uniquely personalised monogrammed gift. Whether you’re shopping for a birthday, bridesmaid, or your best friends, you can create something they’ll treasure for years to come.

Heading out one morning, a beautiful giraffe was the first wildlife she spotted, poking its long neck out from behind an acacia tree leisurely eating leaves. Captivated by these majestic creatures she took to her sketch book and started drawing out the long lines of the world’s tallest animal. She focused on detailing each of the giraffe’s spot patterns with watercolor, in the knowledge that no two giraffes have the same pattern, making them incredibly unique.
In conversations with conservation experts on her honeymoon Elizabeth learnt all about the four distinct species of giraffe, the Northern Giraffe occupies the Lewa Conservancy territory and is also known as the Giraffa camelopardalis.
She was shocked to find that giraffe numbers have declined by almost 30% in just over three decades to
approximately 111,000 in the wild. It is likely that giraffes numbered ten times as many only a century ago.
Feeling privileged to enjoy the wonders of this beautiful animal, Elizabeth wanted to show her appreciation to them for inspiring one of our best-selling ranges with our 2% to the Wild initiative.
This year, with our 2% to the Wild initiative, we will be funding the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust's Mara Mobile Veterinary Unit, that will help injured animals of all kinds, including giraffes, honouring our pledge to donate 2% of our annual sales to the preservation of keystone species.
Most recently The Mara Mobile Veterinary Unit successfully treated a Masai Giraffe with an arrow wound. Sadly harm is often caused by human-wildlife conflict, across this critical conservation area in the Masai Mara.
The collection of accessories, with lavender sleep mask/ eye mask, coin purse, makeup bag and iconic Elizabeth Scarlett travel pouch, features Giraffes & green Acacia trees delicately embroidered onto a luxurious rich orange velvet base. With the overwhelming reaction to our first launch we have expanded our Savanna Giraffe collection to include our Giraffe Wash Bag, embroidered cushion, and velvet day bag to brighten every room and outfit even on the greyest of days.

Thank you for your support during this festive time!
Thank you so much for being such a beautiful and supportive community throughout my pregnancy! I am so grateful for all the mama wisdom and advice that you’ve shared with me, so I wanted to share a tried and tested list of all the essentials I’ve used on my journey, along with a few learnings for anyone interested. Here it goes…
SLEEP
I love my sleep. I’m a snoozy 8-9 hours a night kind of gal who loves to sleep on her tummy! A few weeks into my pregnancy, after lots of practise sleeping on my side, I started to suffer from the achiest hip and leg cramps in the night and couldn’t sleep on my side. It turned out my body had started to produce relaxin – the hormone which relaxes the ligaments in your pelvis. This meant I needed help getting my snooze on. Here’s what I did:
SELF CARE
Me time. Before getting pregnant, I had made a promise to myself to prioritise my mental health and well being. As much as I love my business, I was sprinting at a crazy pace, designing and launching new products and campaigns and trying to be everything to everyone... except myself.
I was eating healthy meals but snacking in between on lots of sugar (M&S sweeties bags galore!) drinking lots of caffeine to get through the day, and then beasting my body with HIIT and Spin Classes for an adrenaline hit! My caring sister-in-law recommended that I start working with a coach to reflect on my routines and bring about a healthier lifestyle than the constant burnout I was experiencing. It is the best thing I’ve ever done.
BEAUTY
I’ve been a fan of the following products for years, but they have really come into their own throughout pregnancy – helping me keep the glow. I am going to try my best to continue my routines once baby arrives, ensuring I spend at least 5 mins a day looking after myself!
LEARNING
I really didn’t know anything about pregnancy and growing a baby when I got pregnant (“what’s a trimester”!?) so it’s been a wild 9 months of learning and swotting up!
I’ve been reading:
I actually read this just before I got pregnant. I had moved my birth control to Natural Cycles and was interested to learn more about my cycle. It’s a must and so interesting! I can’t believe how much I didn’t know about my own body before reading this.
I had a real anxiety about how I was going to manage being pregnant and running my business, and was recommended this by fellow female business owners. It was described as “a welcome dose of evidence based sanity”. It is exactly that! I loved it. Easily the best pregnancy book I’ve read and in some parts made me laugh out loud.
3. What to Expect When You're Expecting ‘5th Edition’ - Heidi Murkoff and Sharon Mazel
When I told her I was pregnant, my dear friend Holly Scarsella sent this to me. It’s great because it summarises a few weeks in one go. These bitesize chunks make the learning manageable and not too overwhelming, especially at the beginning of pregnancy.
4. Guide to Childbirth- Ina May Gaskin
Reading all the positive birthing stories here was really helpful in my third trimester. I found it quite heavy going towards the end though. Perhaps read earlier on in your pregnancy than too close to your due date!
I’ve also read some really lovely fiction books, just to give myself a break from all this learning!
Favourites have been..
COURSES
MATERNITY WEAR
I tried my best not to buy too many maternity bits. I was at my biggest during the summer months, so it was easier to just wear floaty, smock style dresses which I picked up a mix from H&M, Urban Outfitters, Christy Dawn, and Asos. The real learnings were on...
The only other thing I can recommend is to take lots of pictures of your growing bump. We had a pregnancy bump photo shoot session with Susheel Schroeder last week and it was such a lovely couple of hours, I will treasure the photos and look back on them to remember a special time.
See you on the other side!
With love,
Elizabeth x
